Sawnie Morris won the New Issues Poetry Prize (judge: Major Jackson) for Her, Infinite (New Issues Press, 2016) and has been recipient of a Poetry Society of America Award, a Texas Pen Literary Award, and the New Mexico Book Award. Her writing about poetry and poets has appeared in The Kenyon Review, Contemporary Literary Criticism, Taos Journal of International Poetry & Art, and Boston Review. She is co-founderwith her husband, the artist Brian Shields – of Amigos Bravos: Because Water Matters, a twenty-eight year old non-profit advocacy organization for the waters of New Mexico.
